Politics and industry speaks of tomorrow's mobility, but we have not yet concluded with the past in order to enter today's sphere of action.

A reasonably priced and barrier-free overall system solution is required for the entire existing market with an efficiency >50% related to the entire light vehicle fleet. Radical toxic emissions reduction for all light vehicles with diesel and gasoline combustion engines on the road, US EPA CARB and Euronorm. To comply with emission limits for clean air and health in cities, metropoles and countries.

However, the global fleet of light vehicles today consists of the light vehicles and engines of yesterday. The "future" in this case refers to the time from 2030+. It is currently the task to adapt and retrofit the light vehicles of yesterday and today to blow less emissions into the atmosphere of tomorrow.

There is a lack of the complete infrastructure for refueling, or charging, as well as the production capacities for alternative light vehicles in the mass market. This becomes clear on the example of Germany. By 2030, only 1 million electric light vehicles and 3.8 million hybrid light vehicles of a total of 43 million light vehicles of the light vehicle fleet are on the market. In 2030+ the share of alternative light vehicles on German roads is only 11%.

To solve the emission problem in the case of Germany and worldwide it is not enough to retrofit euro 5 and euro 6 light vehicles. These light vehicle updates do not even make 9% of the total toxic emissions reduction. In addition, only 50% of euro 5 and euro 6 affected light vehicles are retrofitted by the manufacturers and achieve only 6 - 7% reduction from the overlaid permitted values. This is only 1.4% effectiveness on the entire light vehicle fleet with increasing fuel consumption, as well as additional costs for urea.

The industry is not in a position to reach the toxic prescribed emission values of the entire existing light vehicle fleet with software updates and avaliable urea retrofit systems. The reduction of the toxic emissions of the affected light vehicles with a software update nevertheless exceed 5 - 10 times the permitted setpoint. Euro 6 diesel & petrol cars exceeding legal emissions levels during Real-World use, ICCT study finds. 

There will be no significant improvement in air quality in cities, metropoles and countries. In this case, it would be better to withdraw the approval from the light vehicles. But driving bans are also not a satisfactory solution. Even if the entire car production now produces only zero-emission vehicles, the emissions could not be reduced as required by the legislature. Subjective perceptions have nothing to do with reality. 

The planned measures taken by governments and industry to reduce toxic emissions are detrimental to the overall system. Moreover, they are counterproductive and do not produce the desired emissions reductions, but economic and social injustice.

There are three things

First of all: 
Through an industrial technical dependency, civil society and non-government organisations are not capable of acting. 

Secondly:
Government, civil society and non-government organisations are not able to implement an independent technical solutions by means of an apparent industrial dependency.

Thirdly:
The question is, is it possible to implement an independent solution?

Yes, indeed it is possible.

Any light vehicle with an internal combustion diesel or gasoline engine emits toxic emissions not just in cities. All light vehicles with diesel and gasoline engines must be retrofitted to really improve air quality. Full coverage, efficiency >50% related to the entire light vehicle fleet. The whole diesel and gasoline fleet produces CO2, NOx  and other toxic emissions each day and everywhere around the world.

Not only in large cities problem zones are caused by the high light vehicle density. Over 50% of the entire light vehicle fleet are powered with euro 4 and euro 3 diesel and gasoline engines. These light vehicles emit the major share of toxic emissions. Here  the light vehicle fleet offers a much larger field of reduction potential, but is no longer technologically supported by any industrial solution.

Calculation values for monetary determination 
Today, the worldwide light vehicle fleet comprises about 1.4 billion vehicles – mostly driven by gasoline or diesel. Each of these vehicles drives a mean distance of 18,000 kilometers per year. On the average, during 100 kilometers one vehicle burns 9 liter of fossil fuel, with an average emission per kilometer of 0.5 g NOx and 160 g CO2. Converting NOx in its CO2 equivalent of 298 CO2e, the yearly emission of one light vehicle is 5.562 t CO2e/y. The yearly emission of the worldwide vehicle fleet thus is summing up to 12.6 Mt/y NOx and 4030 Mt/y CO2, which accumulate to a total emission of 7.787 Gt CO2e/y.

With the ECOSTRIES® Automotive Clean Emissions Act this emission is reduced and turned in a common benefit. Cities, regions and nations improve local air quality and contribute to the worldwide emission reduction. The emission reduction by the ECOSTRIES® Combustion Control Technology ECCT comprises on the average about 70% NOx reduction and 10% CO2 reduction. The 50% reduction of NOx emissions is thus already achieved at an equipment of 75% of the vehicle fleet.

All in all, at a 100% equipment of the worldwide vehicle fleet, the reduction potential of the ECOSTRIES® Automotive Clean Emissions Act sums up to a total of 8.82 Gt NOx/y, 403.2 Gt CO2/y, which together are a total of 3,031.56 Gt CO2e/y.
